Prunus serrulata - Kanzan Cherry tree is a very popular and heavy flowering cherry with large, double pink flowers and a strong growth habit. Perfect for a number of landscape uses including parks, gardens and streets.
Form:Upright, vase shaped, spreading with age.
Foliage: Prunus serrulata - Kanzan Cherry tree has large, dark green leaves up to 12 cm long with finely serrate margins, turning yellow to bronzy-orange in autumn. New growing tips are bronze.
Flowers: Prunus serrulata - Kanzan Cherry tree has an abundant bloom that is purplish-pink in bud, fading with age to bright pink semi-double flowers up to five cm in diameter, often with 30 or more petals, borne in dense inflorescences along slender branches in mid-spring.
Tolerances: Prunus serrulata - Kanzan Cherry tree is adaptable to a variety of site conditions, but prefers moist, well drained fertile soils and a position receiving full sun to part-shade. Flowers best in full sun.
